Parking in downtown Boone is always free on Sundays, after 5:00 pm, and on Town of Boone observed holidays. Check out our parking page for more information.    

The next Downtown Boone First Friday is June 2 starting at 6:00 pm.  Stroll through downtown while you enjoy complimentary refreshments, art openings and receptions, live entertainment, and demonstrations. Here is a list of what's happening for the June 2 First Friday:


Emergency Fest 2017

The 2017 Emergency Fest will be held on Saturday, June 10th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Peacock parking lot on Appalachian State University's campus. Bring the kids to enjoy bounce houses, interactive fire fighting demonstrations, train rides, a bike rodeo, helicopter displays, law enforcement displays, and more. It's bound to be fun for all!


June Jamboree at the Jones House, Thursdays 5:30 - 7:30 pm

During the month of June, the Jones House will feature instructor-led "slow" jams on Thursday immediately before the weekly old-time jam (7:30 - 11:00 pm). Separate jams will feature old-time fiddle tunes, folk song singing, and acoustic blues jam. This event is FREE and open to acoustic players.
