Welcome to downtown Boone. We are glad you are visiting our downtown, and we hope your visit is enjoyable. The Town of Boone installed smart meters for all on-street parking and pay-stations for the King and Depot street parking lots in 2015. Below is important information regarding the smart meters and pay stations located throughout downtown.

The smart meters and pay stations are user-friendly and display enforcement hours and parking costs on the convenient LCD screen. For more information on how the smart meters operate please visit ipsgroupinc.com/townofboone.

Parking in downtown Boone is enforced Monday - Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Parking at the on-street smart meters is $1 per hour for up to two hours. Smart meters accept coins, debit and credit cards. Once your time has expired you may return to the meter and pay for more time.  Handicapped parking spaces do not have time limits.  If there are no handicapped spaces available you may park at any available and convenient parking space as long as your handicapped plaque is visible.

The King and Depot street parking lots provide a multi-hour parking option for visitors who wish to stay longer than two hours. Parking in these lots is a $1 an hour and visitors may pay for up to 10 hours of parking.  Enforcement in the King and Depot street lots is also Monday - Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The pay stations in these lots accept coins, debit and credit cards.  The Queen St. coin-only meters will continue to be $.50 per hour for up to three hours.
