Training Opportunities for our Downtown Businesses

Over the next few months the DBDA will be working to host a variety of training opportunities for our Downtown Businesses. Our first training will be in coordination with the Town of Boone Police Department on Friday, April 12 beginning at 8:30am. Sergeant Matt Stevens and our Downtown Police Office Glen Kornhauser will be speaking about loss prevention and taking questions. Then over the next few months we are hoping to use our resources from the Destination Development Association to hold multiple trainings at the Watauga County Public Library. Some of these topics include:

  • Increasing Your Online Exposure- Social Media, SEO and Web Tools for Beginners.
  • The Use of Photography to Increase Sales
  • The 7 Deadly Sins of Destination Marketing.
  • How to Create and Distribute Low Cost, High Impact Video Content.

In addition, we would like to include CPR training and training in coordination with the Chamber of Commerce. When we get those scheduled we will make sure to let everyone know!
