SUMMARY:Summer Concerts at the Jones House
DESCRIPTION:The Town of Boone’s Summer Concerts at the Jones House kicks off in downtown Boone on Friday\, June 6. The popular weekly concert series on the Jones House lawn runs weekly from June through August. Showcasing local and regional acts\, the lineup features a variety of musical genres that will appeal to all types of music fans – bluegrass\, oldtime\, jazz\, folk\, songwriters\, and more. \nMusic begins at 5:30 PM. Concerts are free and open to the public\, and they are held rain or shine. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets to enjoy the music from the lawn. Alcoholic beverages are permitted if patrons are of legal age\, but no open containers are allowed beyond the Jones House property. Parking is free in downtown Boone metered spaces and lots after 5 PM.

SUMMARY:Lost Province Live Music: Mason Jar Confessions Duo
DESCRIPTION:Mason Jar Confessions is a duo consisting of Danny Platt on guitar and vocals and Blake Bostain on the mandolin and trumpet! Mason Jar Confessions plays a mixed bag of Americana\, rock\, folk\, bluegrass\, and original music to create “confession sessions.”\nEach member of MJC performs in other local and regional acts including Handlebar Betty\, Lost Ridge Band\, The Merry Tanksters and Turpentine Shine to form a nice blend of each of their respective other projects. Members of the band have performed in various settings with many artists including Doc Watson\, Jeff Sipe\, David Childers\, the Krueger Brothers\, and members of Railroad Earth and the New Riders of the Purple Sage.

DESCRIPTION:The Appalachian Theatre of the High Country Summer Musical Theatre Camp is a 10-day production camp. Participants\, grades 3 – 8\, develop musical theatre performance abilities by singing\, dancing and acting songs and a scripted story while honing their character\, solo and ensemble skills. This year’s campers are excited to present Seussical\, Jr.  \nSeussical Jr. – a musical adaptation of the beloved books by Dr. Seuss. All of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters such as Horton the Elephant and the Cat in the Hat spring to life onstage in a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners\, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.
