SUMMARY:Old-Time Jam at the Jones House
DESCRIPTION:Every Thursday evening from 7-10 PM\, join local and visiting musicians at the Jones House for an old-time jam session. Bring your banjo\, fiddle\, guitar\, mandolin – or whatever old-time acoustic instrument you have – and spend a few hours playing along with fellow musicians of all skill levels and backgrounds. On warm evenings\, circle up on the Jones House lawn and porch; on cooler evenings\, move the things indoors to the parlor and galleries. Guests and visitors are welcome to observe and enjoy the music but are asked to be respectful of the musicians. After catching up and choosing a key the music will begin\, with the last call for tunes coming around 9:45. \nJams are not held on holidays and may be canceled on days of inclement weather. Call the Jones House with any questions.

Big Iron World Tour: Back to the Roots—a series of intimate shows celebrating the band’s earliest recordings and some of the places where those songs first took shape. \nOn this tour\, the band will perform their first two label releases—O.C.M.S. and Big Iron World—in their entirety. The setlists will trace the foundation of Old Crow’s catalog\, played in smaller venues where the band first stopped in the early days\, many of which they haven’t returned to in years. \nThe performances will be presented in a more stripped-down configuration\, emphasizing the songs themselves—built to carry their weight without spectacle\, production tricks\, or distance from the audience. It’s a return to closeness: songs played up close\, in rooms where every word and harmony matters. \nTogether\, the Back to the Roots tour and the vinyl releases reflect a band that has helped define the modern American roots movement—and continues to lead it. By returning to these songs\, these rooms\, and this way of playing\, Old Crow Medicine Show underscores what they’ve always done best: push tradition forward\, expand the reach of string-band and folk music\, and remind audiences that songs built with care and conviction can last\, travel\, and keep finding new life. \nVisit Old Crow Medicine Show for more info.
