Work remains focused in the closed section of Howard Street from Wildwood Community Market to Burrell Street. The concrete borders in this area are largely complete; however, one section that was vandalized will need to be repaired. Weather permitting, crews plan to install the base layer of asphalt this week.
We’re continuing to make steady progress toward completing one side of the limited hardscape phase!
Looking Ahead
Once this phase is complete and the concrete borders and asphalt base are in place from Depot Street to Burrell Street, Howard Street will return to one-way traffic. Please keep an eye out for new signage and traffic patterns as that transition occurs.
Afterward, the majority of work will shift to the opposite side of Howard Street, from Appalachian Street to Depot Street. That phase will likely begin in the intersection with sewer and stormwater upgrades. Some smaller projects will also continue along the completed section, but these should not interfere with daily operations.
