Last Week
Crews wrapped up work on the base layer of asphalt and completed the concrete road borders from Depot Street to Burrell Street. With this section finished, one side of Howard Street has reopened and returned to one-way traffic. Thank you to everyone for your patience as we reached this important milestone!
This Week
Work will now shift to the opposite side of Howard Street, beginning with the closure of the intersection at Appalachian and Howard Street. This closure is expected to last for about five weeks. Crews are now focusing on replacing underground utilities on the Appalachian Street side of the project, including water, sewer, and stormwater improvements. During this time, Howard Street will remain accessible from Depot Street, so please plan your routes accordingly and use extra caution as you adjust to the new traffic patterns.
Thank you again for your continued patience, flexibility, and support as we move into the next phase of this project.
