Laura Linney, award-winning film, television and theater actress, served as honorary chair for the Appalachian Theatre of the High Country’s “Lights, Camera…AUCTION!” fundraiser in September 2020. Laura’s father, prominent NYC playwright Romulus Linney, spent his summers in Boone. So we’ll have a lot to chat about!
Linney began her experiential education in performance art at an early age. After graduating from The Juilliard School, she went on to appear in leading roles across film, television, and theatre.
You Can Count on Me – a 2000 drama about the complicated relationship between siblings Sammy (Laura Linney) and Terry (Mark Ruffalo), who reunite after years of separation. Sammy, a single mother in a stable but somewhat monotonous life, welcomes her drifting brother Terry back into her life.
