As construction continues along Howard Street, we want to thank you for your continued patience and flexibility. We’re especially looking forward to this week’s First Thursday Art Crawl on July 3 and the Fourth of July festivities!

This Week
Monday morning, crews will begin culvert replacement work near Lumina Spa. This phase involves the replacement of three large culverts and, unlike the moving nature of recent utility work, will remain concentrated in this area for several weeks.

During this time, both Howard Street and the adjacent alleyway will be closed to through vehicle and pedestrian traffic, but Howard Street will remain accessible from either end up to the construction zone.

Progress from The Past Week

  • All water taps for the new water line from Depot Street to Burrell Street have been completed.
  • A temporary tap was installed near Melanie’s due to delays in receiving parts for a large meter vault.
  • Once those parts arrive, crews will return to install the permanent connection.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue working toward a safer, more beautiful, and pedestrian-friendly Howard Street!
