Work is officially underway on a limited hardscapes phase of the Howard Street Revitalization Project.
This Week
Beginning today, Howard Street is closed to all vehicular traffic from Depot Street to Wildwood Community Market. This closure allows crews to begin limited hardscape work, including installing concrete roadway borders and a base layer of pavement. The closure is expected to last approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
Recent Progress
Culvert work is now complete – a major milestone in the project!
Parking Reminder
With one half of the roadway blocked, parking in the street will interfere with construction progress. Parking in the roadway is not allowed, and increased enforcement or towing can be expected if travel lanes are blocked.
Pedestrian Access
This phase should not impact pedestrian traffic. However, this may be a good time to encourage visitors to use the alleyway as an alternate route to Howard Street.
