This Week
There is still some work to be done on the utility boxes between Depot Street and Burrell Street, and crews will also begin transitioning into the duct bank work. Right now, the contractor is working on timing a few things out, but the anticipated plan is to continue with the box work between Depot and Burrell and then begin duct bank installation from Depot Street toward Appalachian Street, likely starting behind Footsloggers.

Not Necessarily Howard Street Work, But Still Impacting the Area
The Town’s Water and Sewer Department will be working on Appalachian Street to install a new water line. One lane of traffic will remain open, but the area will be under construction. This work was intentionally timed to coincide with the university’s spring break to help reduce traffic impacts.

Outside of any unexpected issues during the installation of the pipe, water service should not be impacted during this phase. However, when the new line goes live, there will be some brief interruptions as properties are switched over to the new line.

Last Week
Crews continued working on the utility boxes for the conduits. Two large boxes were installed along with several smaller ones as work continues to progress along the corridor.
