This Week

Crews will return to the area behind Town Hall this week to complete a small amount of remaining roadbed work. Once that work is finished, they hope to place a base layer of asphalt on the new roadway, pave the bike lane, and connect the Town Hall and King Street parking lots to the new roadway so that vehicles can exit directly onto Howard Street.

If all goes as planned, this work should wrap up early this week, allowing crews to transition into the next phase of the project.

The next phase will focus on the area behind the Appalachian Theatre to Appalachian Street and will follow a similar construction pattern to the previous phases on this side of the project. Work will begin with grading activities, followed by concrete and hardscape installation, roadbed preparation, and ultimately paving and asphalt.

A Quick Reminder

To maintain access to the parking lots during construction, the new one-way roadway will continue to operate as a two-way access road for the time being. Please drive carefully in this area and help us keep traffic moving by not parking in the newly constructed parking stalls or along the side of the roadway.
