THIS WEEK

Crews will start the week by picking up where they left off Thursday, with the goal of getting the asphalt installed for the bike lane from Wildwood toward Burrell Street.

Once they are caught up on the Rivers Street side of Howard Street, crews will shift back to The Local side of the road, starting near The Local and working toward Burrell Street. The plan is to work on one side at a time so that at least one side of the project has sidewalks that can remain open for pedestrian traffic as much as possible.

LAST WEEK

Despite the weather, crews made some great progress last week! A significant amount of hardscape work was completed, including new sidewalks and installation of the base for the brick pavers in front of Wildwood.

SPECIAL NOTE

As work continues between The Local/Wildwood and Burrell Street, please expect intermittent closures and changing pedestrian access through this area. Crews will work to maintain access whenever possible, but there may be times when temporary closures are necessary to complete the work.

The new sidewalks, bike lanes, pavers, benches, and other hardscape elements are really starting to bring the project to life, but it is important to remember that we still have a ways to go before construction is fully complete. Some areas and elements that may look finished are still part of an active construction zone, and additional work, adjustments, and finishing touches remain. We appreciate everyone’s continued patience as we allow the project to progress and address any issues that remain as construction moves toward completion.
