This Week:

Freedom ElecTech will continue installing the new streetlight poles along Howard Street. This week, crews are expected to begin setting the larger 28-foot poles, which will require equipment to get them in place. Crews will work from the sidewalks where possible, but some temporary traffic interruptions are anticipated as they make their way down the street. Each location is a little different, so traffic impacts will vary depending on where crews are working.

We’re also anticipating the return of the road striping crew toward the end of this week to begin marking the roadway, bike lanes, crosswalks, and other areas. The contractor has been waiting on a few additional materials that were expected to arrive late last week. Assuming those arrive as planned, the goal is to begin striping later this week. This work will also require some temporary traffic interruptions and closures.

Last Week:

Freedom ElecTech was able to get the three smaller streetlight poles installed along Howard Street, checking another piece of the project off the list!

And another BIG shoutout to New River Light and Power! Their crews have now completed moving all power service connections into the underground duct bank AND removed all overhead transformers and wires! This is a major milestone for the project and represents a tremendous amount of work and coordination. A BIG THANK YOU to the entire New River Light and Power crew for helping us get to this point!
