This Week
Crews plan to work on landscaping this week. We expect minimal traffic impacts, aside from a few temporary interruptions as supplies are delivered.
Freedom ElecTech has installed the streetlights they’re able to at this point and will likely continue working on lighting and possibly the new EV chargers. Street Department crews will also be adding signage throughout the area.
Last Week’s Progress:
It was exciting to see the striping go down last week! The roadway markings, bike lanes, and crosswalks are helping bring the new layout into focus. If you’ve been wondering about those large green boxes, they highlight where the bike lane crosses a driveway to help everyone stay alert at those crossing points.
A Note for Delivery Drivers:
We appreciate all you do to keep our downtown businesses going! Please use the loading zones to help keep traffic moving, as the bollards prevent vehicles from safely passing stopped trucks. Howard Street has two large loading zones, one at each end, and two smaller ones near Depot Street. Earlier deliveries, before 8 a.m., are encouraged when possible. Please also be aware that additional enforcement is expected for blocked roadways. Thanks for working with us as everyone adjusts to the new layout!
