This Week
At the beginning of the week, you will likely see survey crews in the area preparing for the installation of the concrete border band along the north side of Howard Street (the side closest to the Appalachian Theatre, Town Hall, and ECRS). The hope is to begin installing that section of the concrete border this week. This work only includes the north side of the street, but I will continue to share updates as plans for the south side border are finalized. Once work begins, please anticipate intermittent road closures and traffic impacts in the immediate work area.
Later in the week, paving crews are expected to be working in the area around Town Hall and the alley next to High Life.
You may have also noticed utility crews beginning to mobilize throughout the project area as they prepare for the next phase of moving infrastructure underground. As this work ramps up, you can expect to see additional utility crews on site. We are continuing to develop communication channels and coordination efforts with the various utility providers, and I appreciate your patience as we work to improve updates and information sharing during this transition.
Last Week
Last week, crews completed the final section of duct bank installation along South Depot Street and continued work on the underground utility infrastructure throughout the project area.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued patience and support as we move into this next phase of the project. 828-268-6283.
